ABOUT US
A family owned and operated vineyard
nestled in the rolling hills of Cambridge, NY
Welcome to South Dominion Vineyard, a New York State Grown & Certified family-owned vineyard nestled in the picturesque hills of Cambridge, NY. Residing on land that has been continuously farmed for nearly 260 years, our vineyard continues an age-old tradition of farm to table living. Established in 2016, we planted 1300 Franco-American cold-hardy hybrid vines on our family farm. These unique hybrids, developed by a pioneering Minnesota scientist in the 1960s, blend wild American and European vinifera grapes, perfectly adapted to thrive in the unique climate of upstate New York.

Our collection showcases a range of exquisite white wines and reds, each presenting a delightful spectrum of body, sweetness, and finish. We invite you to explore the distinctive characteristics and intriguing taste profiles of our wines, crafted with passion and expertise. Special features of the winery include the tasting room, built in 2019, that was constructed using post & beam building principles. Large windows, vaulted ceiling, a beautiful fireplace, and comfortable seating, provide a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Upstairs in the Loft is a selection of used books, including those for kids, and vinyl records, works by local artists, and a curated selection of gift items including wool from the fleeces of our Romney- Dorset sheep and hand knit hats. There’s a comfortable lounge up there too, where you can curl up with a book while sipping wine, beer, coffee or tea and listening to tunes from our extensive vinyl library. There’s even a child-size table and chairs with art supplies. Guests are invited to walk in the vineyard, visit the sheep, and discover the restored 1790 barn and 1766 log cabin which bear testimony to the myriad challenges our forebears faced as they settled in this area.
