We weren't sure what we were walking into at first. South Dominion is tucked away in a nice private location surrounded by natures beauty. You are greeted by Vance and Sean the absolutely wonderful couple who owns the vineyard. Its a very happy fun loving atmosphere with these two and you can tell they put time and love into everything they do to make the wine tasting a great experience. Very knowledgeable as they share stories of the grapes and histories of how they picked which grapes to grow and use in their wines. Every wine we tried was delightful to the pallet. I tried 4 reds and two whites. Leaving with two bottles of red one of the Dionne and one of Dionne 18. Smooth, beautifully aromatic and pleasantly flavorful. They have wines for both the dry and sweet lovers out there! 10/10 would highly recommend visiting this winery for not only the Great Wines but for the Experience as well!

We loved this vineyard. The hosts are great people - it was like visiting friends. I particularly enjoyed reading their brochure on the history of the area and walking through the vineyard to see the old cabin and the breathtaking view. We did the wine tastings and purchased a bottle to drink there and one for home - excellent wine. We will certainly go back soon.

French-American Wine Grapes

South Dominion is a New York State Grown & Certified family owned and operated vineyard nestled in the rolling hills of Cambridge, NY in Washington County. The vineyard was established in 2016 when we planted 2 1/2 acres with six varietals of cold hardy grapes that were developed by crossing French and wild American grape varietals to withstand the extreme cold winters characteristic of upstate New York. Residing on land that has been continuously farmed for nearly 260 years, South Dominion is part of the Upper Hudson Wine Trail and the recently established American Viticultural Area, the Upper Hudson.
